Indian Society of Gastroenterology
The Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG) was established in 1960 and serves as the leading body for gastroenterology professionals in India. With over 3800 members and 19 state chapters, ISG focuses on promoting education, research, and awareness about gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders. The society organizes annual congresses, including international events like APDW 2019, and academic programs such as the Young Clinician Program, Master Classes, and Evidence-Based Gastroenterology. ISG also contributes to national guidelines and environmental sustainability through initiatives like carbon-negative certified events.
