The World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) and the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG) invite gastroenterologists, internists, surgeons, hepatologists, radiologists, pediatricians, medical students, medical residents, and GI fellows to submit abstracts for the World Congress of Gastroenterology 2026, to be held in New Delhi, India.
Please read all instructions carefully to ensure compliance with submission requirements.
Abstracts should relate to clinical or research-oriented work in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology.
Abstracts must be original and must not have been published previously or accepted for publication. If the work has been presented previously at another conference, this must be clearly stated at the time of submission.
As this is an international meeting, English will be the official language of the scientific program.
Presenting authors whose abstracts are accepted for oral presentation are expected to present their work and answer questions from the audience in English.
WCOG 2026 offers the following presentation formats:

All abstracts must conform to the following guidelines.
Abstracts must be submitted online only. Abstracts submitted by mail, fax, email, or courier service will not be accepted.
A valid email address must be provided for each author. Only one author may be designated as the presenting author. Institutional affiliation details must be entered for each author.
Abstracts should be structured using the following subheadings:
Background/Aims, Materials/Patients and Methods, Results, Conclusion.
Do not include any author-identifying information within the abstract body, including references to institutions, titles, positions, or appointments.
Abstracts submitted as Clinical Vignettes or Case Reports should provide a clear description of the case(s).
Word limit: 300 words
References:
References should not be included.
Images and Tables:
Images and tables are not permitted.
Drug Names:
Abstracts must not contain advertising, corporate logos, trade names, or product-group messages of commercial interest. Proprietary names should not be used.
Plenary Sessions / Young Investigator Awards
The highest-rated oral presentations will be selected to be presented in the Presidential Plenary Sessions.
Case reports will not be considered for the Young Investigator Awards.
As this is a World Congress, submission of a full manuscript is not required for consideration for the Presidential Plenary Session or the Young Investigator Session.
Accepted abstracts will be published in a supplement issue of the Indian Journal of Gastroenterology.
The presenting author of an accepted abstract must attend the congress and pay the applicable registration fee. Registration is mandatory for everyone to participate in the congress.

By clicking the “Add Author” button, you can select the number of co-authors you want to add for your abstract. In case you have more co-authors than the number given in the abstract submission portal, kindly write to the congress secretariat.
Please enter full names (first, middle, and last name), using lowercase letters with the first letter capitalized. Institute and city of all the co-authors should also be mentioned.

All authors and co-authors must declare any financial or other interests related to companies connected with the study.
